66 Jerusalem Church of the Redeemer : dedicated by the Kaiser

This is a protestant church I visited in Jerusalem, with pleasantly chunky pumpit and baptismal font. It had two separate collection boxes, one for German speaking congregation, and one for the Arab congregation – I have no idea why.  Jerusalem is full of different kinds of Christian churches – Coptic, Ethiopian, Greek orthodox, Latin orthodox and I forget several more.

The church was built at the end of the 19th century and was personally dedicated by the Kaiser in 1898. It currently houses Lutheran congregations that worship in Arabic, German, Danish, and English.
