Churches in Paris and elsewhere

This time a modern neighbourhood church, near the Place de la Bastille, among the restaurants of the Rue de la Roquette. Established in order to re-evangelize the working class population of the area, the original church structure became dangerous and was replaced by the modern church. Among the photographs you will find a declaration about sexual abuse in the Church around the world. The cheap hotel opposite advertises "rooms to rent by the month or by the day". Another link with the food market - some of the chapels were funded by trade groups. This is the pork-butchers' chapel, for example. It goes back a long way. A painting of the figure of temperance The church is not very long, but it is very high indeed. Politician Colbert was buried here in the 17th century. These days a controversial figure. He waas heavily involved in the organization of slavery, and as a result there have been successful campaigns to change the names of some of the schools etc named after him.
